THE FIRST ERA OF MINNESOTA GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL 1891 - 1942
This book compiles the history of girls high school basketball from its arrival in 1892 at Carleton College, Northfield, through 1942 when state and national organizations influenced the ending of competitive teams.
You may have a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, sister, aunt or neighbor who was part of this history. They played for fun, in small towns and larger cities all over the state of Minnesota. They faced all sorts of obstacles, just because they loved basketball.
The book includes first-person stories by the women who played during that era. It is filled with photos of individuals and teams and includes profiles of more than 100 teams. The purpose of the book is to ensure that this colorful history is preserved for future generations and the athletes who will carry on the legacy of the first daughters of the game.
