Jan and Del Hiebert provided the photo of the Elmore girls team from the 1916 Elmore High School yearbook. The section, "Athletics," stated, "During the Winter a great amount of enthusiasm was shown over Basket Ball. This has been the first year of Basket Ball and although a new game, our boys worked up a great deal of "pep." Out of five games played with outside High Schools, two were lost. The Girls had a fast Basket Ball Team but few games were played as the time was short and on March 18 we lost our Gym. So Hurray, for Basket Ball. There's still a Winter coming!"

The yearbook reported that from January 15 - March 17, the girls' team played three games against the Elmore Town Team, winning two games and losing one. Other teams played included two games each against Blue Earth, winning one and losing one, and Fairmont, winning one and losing one.
