The following information from the Arlington Enterprise, February 24, 1927, was provided by Dwight Grabitske:
"Claim District Championship
The Arlington girls basketball team played the last game of the season Monday night against Waconia, defeating them 24-8. On Wednesday of last week they also defeated Henderson on the home floor by a score of 13-5. The last two victories of the past week brought their total of games won up to ten, without a single defeat. The closest battle of the season was played against the Alumni team, which the High School girls won by the close score of 6-4. All the other games were won by a decisive margin.
No record of the game played (with) other teams in the district is had at present, but it is nearly safe to say that the Arlington girls can claim the championship of the district for this year. No girls tournament is held to decide a definite winner, but if such were held Arlington is capable of entering a girls team that is hard to beat. This is the first year in the history of the local school that a girls' team has played as many games, and won them, as the girls of this year's squad. They more than doubled the points run up by opponents, registering a total of 189 to 81 rung up by the various opposing teams. The personnel (Sic.) of Coach Hensler's team is as follows: Martha Bullert and Edna Timm, guards; Luella Bandelin and Helen Madden, forwards; Sophia Steffer and Irene Meyer, centers; Agatha Reichert, Lorraine Kienitz, Adeline Gertejejensen and Bernice Peters reserves."
